It's up to you to figure it out.
1) A belief that capitalism is based on the exploitation of workers by the owners of capital
2) A belief that people's consciousness of the conditions of their lives reflects material conditions and relations
3) An understanding of class in terms of differing relations of production, and as a particular position within such relations
4) An understanding of material conditions and social relations as historically malleable
5) A view of history according to which class struggle, the evolving conflict between classes with opposing interests, structures each historical period and drives historical change
Who is this? Bonus points for knowing WHAT it is.

If I may...
this is Marxism..and to be honest.. the only sort of candidate I think fits this is..Nader. But I have a feeling he is not one of the 3 you speak of. I'm interested in your take.
It's Marxism. Very good. Lately Senator Obama has been making statements that lean strongly in that direction. Nader is definitely that way as well.
The Mayor of Burlington Vt. is a card-carrying communist/socialist, and proudly proclaims himself as such.
But he's just the mayor of Pondunk Vt. The Presidency is something different. Senator Obama to me is far too "slick". His intelligence, bearing, etc, are not in question here.
This feeling I have that he's "slick" is a little disconcerting for me. I want my President to be shrewd...savy...wise, etc. But not "slick".
And I don't want a Marxist in charge either. Marxism is all about big business being bad; wealthy people being bad; the involuntary distribution of the wealthy's money to the less fortunate - or what is often ignored - the LESS AMBITIOUS. Marxism is about big government, big taxes, and phoney class structuring.
In short...he scares me for who he is starting to show he is, and it scares me that most people have yet to see it.
You sound like my husband. He is quite uneasy with Obama as well.. and yes..i do believe it's his "slickness" that unnerves him.
"In short...he scares me for who he is starting to show he is, and it scares me that most people have yet to see it."
..this is it in a nutshell. Interesting....I wonder though if there will be a sort of voters remorse...Thats why old Hilly is staying in..she is hoping his "true colors" as it were will show through...and I don't mean skin color...of course.
I'm afraid I don't give anyone else a chance to answer...I'm like that kid in class..raising her hand and saying ooo ooo ooo teacher..I know I know.
8-)
There are a few other issues as well. One of them is the obvious relationship - whether that be spiritual or whatever - with Jeremiah Wright. As that story continues to unfold...and it seems to add a new chapter weekly because the Rev Wright refuses to lie down and be quiet...myself and many others are having ever-growing issues with the Obama/Wright connection.
The next thing is Michelle Obama. From Chicago like her hubby, she obtained her undergrad degree at Princeton and her law degree from Harvard. She has openly criticized having to pay her school loans back, in the outrageous believe that she should not pay this money back because she's a minority female and the wife of a public servant. This of course, is ridiculous.
My son will be attending college in a mere 15 months. By GPA, course structure, National Honor Society status, and his SAT score from October, he is qualified for a bright futures scholarship to any public Florida university or college. He could choose to go to Boston University for more money in 1 year than he will need in 4 years at Florida State for example, if he wants to absorb the loans.
The point is...like Michelle Obama, my kid has a choice to make...just like she did. He doesn't get any special financial assistance because he has diabetes or because I served in the military. Michelle could have gone to the U of Illinois if she wanted to, and received a fine education.
In a previous blog I spoke about how she was ashamed to be an American until her husband started kicking ass on the campaign trail.
Until she started campaigning with him, she was a member of 3 different law firms, as well as being on the board of directors for the University of Chicago Medical Center. She often stands in front of packed auditoriums speaking to minority females, telling them - IMPLORING THEM - to resist the urge to work in the corporate environment. WTF??
I've been retired from the Army for over 10 years. Every year one or two parents or teenagers talk to me about the Army. I don't tell them not to join. That would be absurd. But Michelle Obama...a product of the best education this country can offer, and a child of corporate law firms and hospitals, tells other people not to do what SHE has done.
Often the argument to me is: "We're not electing Michelle Obama."
YES we are. The spouse comes as part of the package, like it or not.
Whew! I need a nap!
Oh...I almost forgot.
Michelle also complains about having to cover the high cost of summer camp and piano lessons for her kids on her family's three-quarters-of-a-million-dollars-a-year income.
News Flash:
1) I think she CAN afford it.
2) There is no law that says she HAS to send her kid to camp or take piano lessons.
Bottom Line: The Obama's are elitist, out-of-touch, and she's a whiner.
If I may chime in...
I don't know that I completely disagree with your take. But he sure as hell is better than Hillary.
And that's all I'm going to say about that.
I'm not even sure I agree with my take. I have some serious reservations about this guy and I'm just voicing them, in an attempt to process the information.
